CENTRAL COMMAND YOGA CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 CULMINATES AT LUCKNOW

 

Lucknow, 25 September 2026: The Central Command Yoga Championship 2026 successfully culminated at the 11 Gorkha Rifles Regimental Centre, Lucknow on 25 September 2026. The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation by teams from formations across Central Command, showcasing a high standard of physical fitness, balance, flexibility, precision and discipline.

The championship featured six competitive events comprising Traditional Yoga, Artistic Single, Rhythmic Pair, Artistic Pair, Traditional Group and Artistic Group. Participants demonstrated exceptional skill, coordination and team spirit throughout the competition. Agniveer Kartik Sharma distinguished himself with an outstanding performance and secured first position in the championship.

The championship formed part of the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on holistic physical and mental fitness of its personnel. Yoga, with its focus on strength, flexibility, concentration and inner balance, contributes significantly towards enhancing physical endurance, mental resilience and overall well-being of soldiers.

The event also provided a competitive platform for participants from different formations to demonstrate their proficiency and exchange best practices while promoting Yoga as an integral component of a healthy and disciplined military lifestyle.
